Challenge Coins UK was founded by Tom Newey in 2017. Tom first came across coins whilst serving in the British Army on exercise in California as a technician on the Apache Helicopter. Upon being given his first coin, Tom realised that the British forces lagged behind when it came to using coins for unit identity and rewarding significant achievements.

After leaving the Army, Tom realised that the civilian and corporate could also use coins as internal awards, to celebrate anniversaries or recognise long service.

Tom does the majority of the coin designs using his knowledge of the armed forces but now also the police and corporate sector. This knowledge, gained over time, means that designs are tailored to each customer and their background rather than a one size fits all approach.
